The project analyzes two years of commercial data on 17 fresh fruit and vegetables (FFV) from more than 20,000 farmers, 14,000 retailers and 6 wholesale markets, and more than 100 fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) to gain insights into the metropolitan Nairobi food system. In addition, we develop wholesale market data capture App to provide information to the private sector partner (Twiga Foods) on the demand of diverse FFVs in Nairobi so that they can design commodity supply to respond to the market demand. We also conduct consumer studies to provide additional insights on what commodities are utilized by the urban consumers and understand why they are not consuming some nutritious FFV
