A Sustainable Solution
A step towards environmental sustainability has been taken by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Allahabad (Prayagraj). Researchers there have developed and received a patent for innovative tea bags made from banana leaves. This eco-friendly alternative to traditional tea bags addresses growing concerns about environmental pollution caused by non-biodegradable materials.
Expectations from the collaborators: The newly developed banana leaf tea bags, on the other hand, are completely biodegradable and decompose quickly, leaving no harmful residues behind.
Incentives: Traditional tea bags are typically made from plastic fibers, which can take hundreds of years to decompose in landfills, contributing to microplastic pollution and harming ecosystems.
